Cholangiocarcinoma (aka Bile Duct Cancer) is a deadly, aggressive, rare cancer that is difficult to diagnose, often diagnosed at a later stage, has limited treatment options, and has a very poor prognosis in many cases. Once a cancer of mostly men over 65, Cholangiocarcinoma (pronounced Ko-Lan-G-O-Car-Sin-O-Ma), also known as CCA, is now seen in men and women, some as young as 9 years of age. A study in JAMA predicts that liver cancer and intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma will be the third leading cause of cancer death by 2040. With drugs often taking 10+ years to get to market, even with accelerated approval, THIS. IS. A. CRISIS.
We formed Team Cure Cholangio to raise much-needed research money. All proceeds from Team Cure Cholangio will be earmarked for research only.
Listen as Team Cure Cholangio's own Jan Meyer sits down with Rick Jensen of Delaware's WDEL radio station to talk about Cholangio.
